Stipulations, Intent and Guidelines for Scholarship Program
Purpose and Intent
The Kiwanis Club of Seven Lakes Scholarship Program is encouragement and support for those students pursuing post-secondary education. It reflects our commitment to continue investing in the various milestones of our youth as they grow academically and professionally. The purpose of this scholarship is not to measure financial need or academic standing, but to honor selected active and participating member of our Key Club(s) family as they continue their educational journey.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a graduating high school senior.
- Be an active member of a Seven Lakes Kiwanis sponsored Key Club
- Be accepted and planning to attend a four-year university/college, a community college, or a vocational/trade school.
Scholarship Awards
This is one-time award to be presented at the Senior Awards Ceremony or prior to graduation. The awards amounts are as follows:
- Scholarships not to exceed $1,000 per student showing exemplary leadership ability as demonstrated by their role and participation in their Key Club
Application
Students applying for the scholarships will submit a short biography, including their specific participation in Key Club and how this has affected their lives.
Use of Funds
- Tuition
- Books or school supplies
- Food
- Transportation
- Room and Board
- Other personal or educational needs
Distribution Requirements
- Submit proof of acceptance or waiting list information to an accredited institution
- Complete and return all required documents by the specified deadlines to the Kiwanis Club of Seven Lakes Scholarship Committee. The Committee will consult with the Key Club advisor(s).
Outcome or Impact Story
The Kiwanis Club of Seven Lakes would like to hear how you are doing in your endeavors via a short story or even a visit to the club. These stories and or visit may be shared (with permission) in our club’s communications, scholarship updates or to donors.
Additional Guidelines
- There is no GPA requirement for eligibility.
- There is no financial need requirement.
- Recipients are encouraged to continue representing the values of the Kiwanis Club of Seven Lakes wherever they go.
