Projects and Activities

The Kiwanis Club of Seven Lakes  participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.

Below are some of the projects and activities in which we are currently involved: 

  • Woodworking Projects for the West End Elementary School Kindergarten Class.  As an example by showing them how to build their "very own" Bird Houses
  • Through the "Back Pack Pals" program,  providing food to needy children at the West End Elementary School and the Elise Middle School in Robbins, North Carolina
  • Supporting Service Leadership Programs (SLP):  a "Key Club" at the North Moore High School and a "Builders Club" at the Elise Middle School in Robbins, NC plus cosponsor The ARC of Moore County "Aktion Club" for adults with disabilities
  • Supporting the "Terrific Kids" program at the West End Elementary School and Carthage Elementary.
  • Teddy Bear Fair - aquaint First Graders with the First Health Hospital
  • Bi-monthly Red Cross Blood Drive in Seven Lakes North Club House
  • Salvation Army "Red Kettle" - Annually in December

Financial Support the Club Provides

The Kiwanis Club of Seven Lakes conducts a number of Fund Raising Activities during the course of the year.  These "monies" are used to provide financial support to a wide variety of needs within our community of Moore County, North Carolina. 

Fund Raising Events

Below are some of the Fund Raising Events in which we are currently involved:

  • Annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast in February at the West End Elementary School  - 35 years in 2018
  • Annual Pumpkin Patch in Seven Lakes, North Carolina each October
  • Bingo every month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at the Chapel in the Pines, Fellowship Hall in Seven Lakes, North Carolina
  • Happy Dollars at each weekly Club Meeting - Averaging $1500 annually equally divided between a different charity each quarter
  • 50/50 Drawings at each weekly Club Meeting

Financial Support

  • West End Elementary School -various needs
  • Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina - Kiwanis Cottage at Lake Waccamaw
  • Project Linus
  • Toys for Tots
  • Salvation Army
  • Back Pack Pals
  • Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina
  • Chapel in the Pines "Empty Stocking Fund" each Christmas
  • Boys Scouts Troop #98 and Heritage Girls Troop #98
